MICROPILE TECHNOLOGY & UNDERPINNING OVERVIEW

 

Micropiles are grout injection anchors which are installed with rotary percussion equipment using carbide tipped bits. The bars and bit are hollow, permitting cement grout to be injected into the ground as the anchor is installed. The resulting ground anchor is encased in high strength grout for the full depth and set into target material until practical refusal is reached.  Reinforced concrete grade beams or spot footer connections are then used to tie the system together.
